Making Avatar – New 22 Minute Behind-the-Scenes Video

Thankfully, we don't have to wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray to see some behind-the-scenes on how the "groundbreaking" effects of Avatar were accomplished. There's already a featurette available online.

Gizmodo has the 22 minute piece and some more info.

Nice to see a lot of my favorite design geeks from the New Zealand effects/design company WETA worked on the movie.

(This clip coming out early outside the DVD is no accident... after the Globes, Avatar is frontrunner for Best Picture. I think Hurt Locker also has a shot. It's a Hollywood-style race... James Cameron vs. his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow, who directed Hurt Locker.)
