Natural Victims: Edit is Done! #2wkfilm Completed in Time!

Thanks to a double-team all-nighter effort between Micah and myself, we finished the cut of Natural Victims around 11am. It weighs in at 1 hr 5 minutes, just over the 1 hr minimum.

I'm really proud of how it turned out. That you can make a project of this size & scope in this small amount of time is truly amazing. I owe my inspiration to the first round of #2wkfilm filmmakers: REid Gershbein, Lucas McNelly and Mike Peter Reed. Thanks, gentlemen!

The export / compression / upload / encode process is maddeningly slow. Turns out my tweets of expecting to have the movie ready for viewing online around noon today were hoplessly optimistic. (This is why, in my original schedule, I had a whole day set aside for just such nonsense. Of course, that all went quickly out the window.)

The full rez file out of the Avid is a whopping 65GB, so we're talking a lot of work for the old Mac Pro Intel processor. I promised people they could watch the movie today at naturalvictims.com and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will all be able to finish in time to give people the option to stay in and watch a free #2wkfilm tonight instead of expensive Hollywood schlock or expensive Spike Jonez imaginative romp.

The movie will, of course, will remain freely available online for some time, if I have any say in the matter.
