The 3D-One Camera

It was only a matter of time before someone designed a camera that looks vaguely like the starship Enterprise. I present to you, the 3D-One, boldly going where only jerry-rigged cameras have gone before.

Made by a company in the Netherlands called 3D-one B.V., the 3D-one shoots HD (1080p in the CC30 version) to a hard drive, recording motion-jpeg compressed avi files.

I hope this catches on, and puts pressure on the display technologies. Now Avid isn't looking so dumb for adding all the stereo editing workflows in their last updates. (3D-One's workflow page only mentions Premiere and Final Cut Pro, presuming you will only edit one eye's view and then conform the files for the opposite eye.)

I haven't heard of 3D-One, but I'm guessing it's a guy in the Netherlands who is sick of Sony, Panasonic, RED etc. talking about 3D cameras but not making them. Good for him! Let the 3D revolution become democratized!
