Avid Media Composer 4′s New Features
As usual, Steve at Splice Here has great coverage of Avid's updates. I agree that the transition preservation is a bigger deal than it at first appears.
I'm sick of the "this splits a transition effect" error. In fact, in a follow-up post, Steve has posted a video demonstration of the new transition preservation features.
The 16 mixer tracks will be super handy too. Sometimes I have to checkerboard music on 9&10. All those extra clicks and accidental mixing of 7&8 will not be missed!
