Wherefore the Strange New Coen Trailer?

If you've seen the trailer for the next Coen Bros. movie, A Serious Man, then you know that it is unlike any other trailer ever made. While the inspiration was the trailer for The Shining, I think the folks at Mark Woolen and Associates have created an entirely new mold -- thank goodness!

“They wanted something ‘different,’” Bender says, remembering the Coens asking, “‘Can you find one scene from the movie for our trailer and not do the traditional trailer structure?’ And then one of them said, ‘Maybe just show the guy getting his head bashed in for 30 seconds.’ I took that suggestion a little more seriously than they expected me to!”
