Some of my favorite scores are Lawrence of Arabia, Star Wars, Psycho, Brick, The Lord of the Rings
Some of my favorite soundtracks are Garden State, Boogie Nights, Wayne’s World, 2001: A Space Odyssey, O Brother Where Art Thou?
There are many others. The ones I like I guess are pretty showy. There’s another school of thought that says a score fails if it draws attention to itself. I don’t think that’s true, but there is something to be said for scores that support rather than lead.
