AFI Film Festival… I think I’ll go
I miss the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, which is going on right now. Fortunately, several of the same films, including Pedro Almodóvar's Volver are playing at AFIFEST 2006 here in LA. The AFI Film Festival takes place concurrent to the American Film Market, which is where people who make films come to sell them to people who distribute them. I'd like to learn more about film markets -- hopefully I can sneak to AFM and see what goes on.
