When It’s Good to Be Two Dimensional
Among theoretical physicists there is great admiration for an 19th century speculative novel called Flatland, about the inhabitants of a 2D universe. Among Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez, there is enough enthusiasm to give voice to abstract geometry for Flatland: The Movie. That sound you've been hearing -- you thought it was a broken air conditioner. It was, in fact, the sound of math teachers rejoicing.
All I can say is: If George Lucas remakes this movie, he'll probably do it in 3D.
