RitM: On Budget

Joel & Christine definitely have a future in Hollywood -- they've managed to bring their movie in under budget. I'd credit the early legwork, where hard choices were made about what to cut from the script, and what to format to shoot on:

In the beginning, we actually had 6 different hypothetical budgets made up just so we could see our options. They were the following:

A 120 minute movie shot on 35mm
A 90 minute movie shot in 35mm
A 120 minute movie shot in 2-perf 35mm (a system where every the 35mm frame is turned into two frames - you use half the amount of film but still get better quality than 16mm)
A 90 minute movie shot in 2-perf 35mm
A 120 minute movie shot on 16mm
A 90 minute movie shot on 16mm
