The Disappearing Act

All the crowing all year long about the small downturn in box office is now being spun as:

vanishing audiences--who’ve now magically reappeared

--We Lost It at the Movies -- New York Magazine

Break me an effing give. Must a minor slump achieve Houdini status? Forget about attendance for a tick. Subtract the inflation in marketing costs and the movie business is way more profitable.
