Free Avid Editing Software, Really

DV Guru has the scoop on Avid Free DV. Looks like Avid is finally wetting themselves before the deific Final Cut Pro. Clearly they are hoping us young folk will get comfy with their layout and then upgrade when we have saved up roughly the GDP of Bolivia.

I've been using full-powered Avid software at work lately and, compared to Final Cut Pro, it just ain't all that and a bag of Doritos. Still, free will be the right price for many people. FCP, you gonna let Avid swing its dongle like that? Sound off like you gotta a pair... of parallel processors!
