Steve Update 8/25

Before going to see Red Eye at the theater, Joel, Christine, Lillian and I went to see Steve. Joel and Christine had some paperwork for him to sign -- which he did -- 16 signatures in total. Good practice for his motor skills.

He was wearing an eye-patch over his right eye -- that right side still has very little movement -- and was watching a hurricane report on CNN. Joel and Christine also brought him a packet of pictures from the shoot, which he very much enjoyed, especially the ones of him and Nick. "He finally started treating me like a father," he remarked.

We helped the nurse pack up for his move to the Rehabilitation wing. "He's progressing too fast to stay here," she joked. Into the trash went the alphabet grid Steve had been using to spell things out. No longer needed.
