Itchin’ for Sin City

I've had Robert Rodriguez' Rebel without a Crew on my bookshelf for ages without having read it. I got it before I had seen any of his movies; now I've seen everything but the Spy Kids stuff. I admire his Renaissance man-ness, especially the music composing, which I could never do. I'm thinking that, after seeing Sin City, I'll finally be jazzed to read his book.

I'm not really the fanboy type, getting high off the hype fumes spewed by film marketers. But I'll admit, I haven't been more excited to see a movie in a long time. The story could end up disappointing me, as did the story in Once Upon a Time in Mexico -- so I'm trying to dampen the expectations. But damn, this movie looks visually stunning. This could be the digital breakout that Sky Captain wanted to be.

I'm scheduled to see it Sunday, so I'll check back with a review then.
