Ten Manipulations: A Wishlist

What Ernest, John & Brandon need to make the movie is what every independent filmmaker wants these days: smart people and money.

Dave disapproves of the crass materialism displayed by Ernest, Brandon & John

Since the end of Halloween, I've been seeing Christmas displays in stores.

I've been inspired...

  • Draft 9 of the script (I'm working on it)
  • A finance wizard
  • A reading of said draft that goes well and nets lots of investors and interest
  • Two budgets to work with a) the low-budget digital bandit version; b) the film/high-def, SAG contracted, legitimate-boost-to-the-NYC-economy version
  • Some gullible generous investors
  • A 'name' actor who shows serious interest but doesn't try to take over the project
  • A grant from a clueless cutting-edge arts organization
  • Twins, one an editor, one a cinematographer, both with their own equipment and no other projects
  • Oh yeah, and a director we can all trust to do right by a project we have all busted a chimpmunk hump of time developing

I've been a good boy this year, but I'll even settle for coal -- provided I get enough of it to sell to raise funds.
