Television is Bad; Movies is Good

For those who have been a deep hole, I'm pleased to provide a curated link-o-rama to the Daily Show versus Crossfire flap. (Did I just call it a 'flap'?)

Jon Stewart told the hosts of CNN's 'debate' show, especially Tucker Carlson, that they were "hurting America." Tucker called him "not funny."

The New York Times editorial

I happen to think Stewart is right about cable news not serving the public interest. Not that they have to. Hopefully everyone will start turning off their televisions and going to the movies where at least the entertainment doesn't masquerade as fact. Well, most movies.

UPDATE: Crossfire has been cancelled and Tucker Carlson's contract not picked up. Jon Stewart's appearance is cited by the executive who made the decision. [reg. req.]
